Google? naw, Goggles.

October 28th, 2009

Outtabounds is stocked up on plenty of goggles for this upcoming snowboarding season. Personally, I have gone snowboarding a few times without goggles and every time I regret it. Its best to suit up completely like so.

*On location at Outtabounds you can find: Anon (Figment model), Dragon (Dx model), POC, Oakley (Crowbar model), Electric (EG2 model) and Spy goggles.

*due to so many goggle options, the pictures do not represent the colors, only the model

Figment Model: Gold chrome – helps eliminate glare for improved visual acuity, dread frame

DX Model: 100% U-V Protection, Anti-fog, helmet compatible, replacement straps, dual layer face foam, micro fleece lining, polyurethane

Crowbar Model: “lightweight and flexible O MATTER® frame is combined with optically pure PLUTONITE® to achieve impact protection that meets all ANSI Z87.1 standards while providing 100% UV filtering”

EG2 Model: Oversized spherical mold injected dual polycarbonate lens, anti-reflective, 100% U-V protected, anti-fog, scratch resistant

Matix x Ride Canvas Board

October 28th, 2009

Matix being a clothing brand, and Ride being a snowboarding company makes this collab very interesting. Like most aesthetic x technical collaberations, Matix brings the visual appeal  and Ride brings the technicalities. Unfortunately for the guys this is a girl’s snowboard.

Although the design (look) is really nice, the technical aspects are the bragging point:

“The top-shelf Canvas dishes out a smooth ride in style with 85A Slimewalls® and the non-stop pop of the inlayed carbon ribs, Pop Stixs™. The freestyle board features a new LowRize™ Rocker profile with a Radial BlendZ sidecut that delivers optimal hook-free goodness, power and float in all snow conditions. And it’s topped off with a lightweight Ride-exclusive Membrain® top sheet that features authentic threads from Matix.”

In simplier terms, the Lowrize Rocker lifts just your contact points off the snow to give you a smooth, catch-free ride without sacrificing any pop.  The Lowrize Sidecut gives you a less hooky feel and better tracking, while the Membrain topsheet makes it super lightweight, while the Pop Stix give it that extra snap to make it a fun and responsive snowboard.

Available at Outtabounds now.

mo’ Altamont

October 26th, 2009

“Find a job you love and you’ll never work a day in your life.”

Altamont believes in passion, so by working with individuals who are passionate about their trade, Altamont creates “creativity”. By working with different creative forces, they can expand their brand’s direction thus becoming something more. The work Altamont does will always be different than the last. They love doing what they do and aren’t afraid to call out haters or nay-sayers. Hopefully your a lover and dig the Altamont ideology.

“Cut from a different cloth.”

With that being said come check out Altamont’s holiday collection at The Market.
