In 1996, Michael Jordan teamed up with Bugs Bunny and the rest of the Looney Tunes characters to play basketball against a group of talent-stealing (literally) alien Monstars. Now in 2009, Jordan Brand is re-releasing the very sneakers the King used in the climax of the film. These kicks are sure to make you jump, and man o man are they out of this world.

The Space Jam’s feature some insane detailing starting from the box to the shoe itself. The box has had some extensive design work  put into it, while the shoe itself comes in its classic colorway. The Space Jams come in black ballistic nylon upper, patent leather,  Royal Blue branding, icy-clear outsole, and reverse Jumpmen. They also contain special hard-plastic inserts to hold the shoes shape, and come in a matching Royal Blue.

Sandbox Helmets

December 18th, 2009

On the polar opposite of Bern’s helmets, Sandbox has doesn’t implement the hardhat design (maybe the Certified Classic and Classic, but I digress..) but they do push functionality hard.

The Skate Shape Brain Bucket is a multi-sport and multi-season helmet. The Classic Brain Bucket still comes with the same thin and soft EVA liner for that ultra comfortable, low profile fit. The Classic Certified Bucket Brain is the same Classic shape but comes with a CE Snow Sports certified EPS liner. All shapes come equipped with 3 sets of fit pads, removable ear covers and removable goggle clip.

JAYCEEOH_ERRRRR1

Remember when JayCeeOh and DJ Scratch of The Roots were in town a few weeks back? Well, JayCeeOh had this idea and fortunately for all of us it came to fruition. 12 super DJs on one track!*

*Listener’s Discretion is advised! Language may be unsuitable for some.

DOWNLOAD: Go Off! f. Scratch (of The Roots), Skratch Bastid, Shiftee, Hedspin, Dopey, Mat The Alien, Marvel, I-Dee, Spryte, DJ Excel, Wundrkut by JayCeeOh

JayCeeOh’s explantion:

“Last month I was in Vancouver and was going through some new joints and came across the Go Off track… The beat to me was asking for cuts on it… I had been kickin it with my homies Hedspin and Marvel and thought, yo we should do a quick cut track over this beat … So I chopped up the beat and sequenced it to 8-bars / hook and so forth… After we started messing with it we thought it would be dope to get a couple other people on this… So I reached out to a few people and so did my canadian comrades… Within two days I had a Dream Team of DJs on board… At that point I figured I might as well make it an even 12 DJs. Was a good number for a DJ track… Then finally on my last stop of the Canada tour I did a show with Scratch (from the Roots) in Saskatoon. I told him about the track and he was down to lay his beatbox/cuts on the intro … Icing on the cake… This track is a throwback to the good ol days when cuts were encouraged and praised. The Roster of DJs is as official as it gets… (R.I.P. Roc Raida)”

mister-cartoon

The venerable Mister Cartoon combined his love of tattooing and LA into his custom DW6900MRC-8. This Navy/Gray G-Shock features Mr. Cartoon’s recognizable artistry. Mr. Cartoon is a artist based in L.A. and is quite famous due to his vast amount of work in the city. This watch is, in a way, like wearing L.A. on your wrist.

Available at Momentum 8th Street.

Levi Maestro seems to know just about everyone who’s anyone, and in his second episode of Season 3 of Maestro Knows, he catches some Mr. Cartoon insight:

“In this episode Maestro visits downtown LA to link up with Mr. Cartoon & take a ride in his ’62 Impala. Cartoon tells his LA story and Maestro recalls the Juxtapoz 15th anniversary & Mr. Cartoon G-Shock launch event.”
