NSW Gore-Tex® M65 Jacket

September 1st, 2010

Nike Sportswear continues to add impressive pieces to their already spectacular NSW Pinnacle line (see: Cardigan; Crewneck). So far, the M65 Gore-Tex® Jacket is the greatest example of the balance between technical and aesthetic design that NSW is maintaining. The Gore-Tex® Paclite Shell, alongside its laser cut seams and bonded construction, will keep you absolutely dry. More technical features include a packaway hood and articulated shoulders and arms for increased mobility. All this based within a sleek black M65 jacket, NSW continues to keep me looking forward for great things in the upcoming months.

Matix Quiet Riot Jacket

September 1st, 2010

Never will I get tired of seeing pre-made jacket/hoody combinations: real or not, they’re just a great combo. Matix succeeds in the pairing of the two with their Womens Quiet Riot Jacket. While being a faux-leather jacket, it should be suitable for any fashion fanatic regardless of its 100% PU (polyurethane) label. The cream colorway with the heather hood are sure to secure compliments all season long.

WeSC Eve Denim (Women)

August 31st, 2010

WeSC fashion has always been a big part of all of our stores, and lo-and-behold TheDenimGuy has put together an extensive review of the Eve denim (which is available in-store).

Denim Reviewing: WeSC Eve Raw Stretch Selvage

Jos_WeSC_F

How does the denim fit in the waist, crotch, butt and thighs?

This WeSC denim fits snugly through the waist, crotch, butt and thighs. Honestly, when I first laid eyes and my hands on the actual fabric of this denim, I was a little worried that it wouldn’t have enough stretch for my curves, but I couldn’t have been more wrong. As far as fit is concerned, this denim really molded to my own form, as opposed to me trying to wedge my body into them. The fit is comfortable and great looking!

Jos_WeSC_F2

Where would you wear this denim to?

I have, indeed, worn this denim on several occasions. I am slightly obsessed with dark wash and the skinny-leg cut. There is just something classic and great about those two aspects of these WeSCs.  Additionally, I feel like I’ve tried out almost every denim brand in existence, but I’ve never, ever seen the attention to detail that the Eve style has. The fun, yet still subtle yellow and white ribbing at the top of a few of the pockets, add an extra bit of pizzaz and intrigue to this denim, without getting, for lack of better terms, cheesy. I always get an incredible response from my friends, co-workers and even some outsiders with this denim. People want to get a closer look at the details and a feel for the fabric.

Know What Else Is Red? eS.

August 31st, 2010

Maybe only a handful of you know what that excerpt above is from but that’s okay. Jamal Smith said it here. Please, only watch it if you’ve seen Gaspar Noé’s second film. Now that eS has hopped on your train of thought, take a look below at the Mad Decent (top) and Diplo (bottom) collaborations. Fortunately (for me), they both come with a very informative description. Personally speaking though, I prefer the Diplo kicks because they say GULLY on the back heel.

eS Fall 2010 Mad Decent Diplo Sneakers

Mad Decent is the name of the Philadelphia-based record label spearheaded by Wesley Pentz, whose better known as Diplo, the Grammy-nominated producer of M.I.A.’s “Paper Planes.” Diplo also makes up one half of Major Lazer, along with the UK’s Switch. As an influential label that’s home to Blaqstarr (who has also produced many tracks for M.I.A.), South Rakkas Crew, and Rusko (to name a few), Mad Decent is often ahead of the curve in new music. In this collaboration with eS, Diplo’s Erving model features a tonal black upper complimented by lime green hits on the eyelets, laces, and the diplodocus logo stitched on the heel. For the Mad Decent Taido model, a reggae-inspired, yellow, red, and green gradient fade is used on the collar and heel portion of the shoe and on the “GET MAD” logo embossed on the tongue

Comune Autumn/Winter

August 30th, 2010

Fall turned into Autumn, yeah my synonym vault is endless.

Comune’s newest collection is just as dark and grungy as our first run with the brand, perhaps even a little bit more so. Bordering on a punk look (words have positive and negative connotations for those of you looking at this and cringing at the word: punk), Comune produces clothing this season which makes me think of  what a skateboarder  might wear if it’s cold outside. The Dion Buttonup is a perfect example: great to layer with, as it has a removable hood,  the Dion would be a good alternative to put under a thicker jacket — a hoodie may keep you just a bit too warm in the preceding months of Winter. The Apuerto (tee) sounds like a nom de guerre with its esoteric stone wash that can only be described as ghastly. Braydon Szafranski’s Wax Jacket by Comune is also gracing our store in good fashion.  It features a buttondown closure, welt waist pockets, snap button chest pockets, light wax coating, and a Comune tag at the right hem. Denim is also available but we wrote the names down wrong.

Now you say you want the real but it’s the real I’m saying, so what’s the deal?

Gravis recently released this video called “Dylan” which revolves around the one and only: Dylan Reider. Short film directed by Greg Hunt. Dylan showcases his gutsy mind over matter aggressive skating. I was really impressed by this video, Not only does he do some skateboarding in the video, he also plays the Stylophone (don’t ask me..) and shows to be just as adequate at that.
