Single Second Holiday ’11

December 7th, 2011
We are glad to present Single Second’s latest season. They dropped four tees that are just recently being put out on the floor.

The Heathens reference has built from the guys’ childhood. Their father used to call them little Heathens in their adolescent years. They both are also fans of baseball and the use of sports team logos. Attending an L.A. Angels game has made a lasting memory as you can see here.

This graphic is known as the Black Metal 2 (Beavis and Butthead), it is a re-release from the Spring 2009 line. Derek and Trevor both love Beavis and Butthead and with it airing recently, they felt like they needed to do the design again.

The shirt above and below are a collaboration with Momentum Marketplace. The “Support your Market” is a play on words of supporting local and the shop’s name. The picture is quite recognizable if you have been inside of Momentum’s Erindale location.

Available at Momentum Marketplace

Love the North,

R. Mack

Jay-Z feat. Alicia Keys – Empire State of Mind (Big Jacks’ Remix) by Big Jacks

Empire State of Mind may be an old song, but that doesn’t change the fact that it’s a huge tune. Big Jacks smooths things out and changes the vibe completely. Enjoy!

LuFotp Mixtape: Lupe Fiasco Friend Of The PeopleI haven’t listened to this yet but there isn’t much to expect besides disappointment. Let me explain, I’ve been a huge Lupe Fiasco fan since sometime around when his first album, Food & Liquor, was released. I fell absolutely in love with The Cool. His old mixtapes were great and his live performances were LIVE. But then came Lasers, his long awaited 3rd album. I won’t get into that, but I will say that Lupe Fiasco changed for the worst. Don’t get me wrong, maybe you liked Lasers and his new sound; it’s just that I always thought Lupe had found the perfect balance of underground lyricism with mainstream popularity. The overall sound of his pre-Lasers records simply sounded right. I am trying to be real; I am trying not to be a stan (see: irrational fan boy/girl)– because trust, I was like that at one point.

Point of all this is: I heard one of these Friend Of The People songs a few weeks ago and it sounds like nothing has changed. I predict that it may be a bad tape but we will see. Expect an editor’s note later. Great cover though.

Graham Douglas Bertie is a producer/composer/songwriter from Montreal, Canada and now resides in Toronto. He was the producer in the duo of Thunderheist, before parting ways in 2010. Since, he has ventured into different work with Miama-based artist Jubilee (under the Bassanovva alias) and a collaborative EP for Grizzly Records. His new solo project, Nautiluss, saw it’s first release this past September on hotly-tipped Hemlock Recordings (home of James Blake, etc) and just recently signed an album deal with Montreal-based Turbo Recordings.
