“The Match Classic for those of you who are unfamiliar, was one of the first tennis shoes that Nike ever released and was retroed earlier this year when Nike Sporstwear collaborated with Hiroshi Fujiwara of fragment design and Jun Takahashi of UNDERCOVER.”
This time around Fujiwara and Takahashi’s influences are absent and the midsole designs are gone. Instead of being a collaberation shoe, the Nike Match Classic has been retroed; the midsoles are supposed to look a bit used (as you can see). The shoe itself is refreshing, it branches off from the traditional Nike swoosh on the side, and replaces it with a significantly smaller one. All three colorways (Brown, Black, Red) have suede uppers and the overall simplicity is impressive.
