WeSC Eve Denim (Women)

August 31st, 2010

WeSC fashion has always been a big part of all of our stores, and lo-and-behold TheDenimGuy has put together an extensive review of the Eve denim (which is available in-store).

Denim Reviewing: WeSC Eve Raw Stretch Selvage

Jos_WeSC_F

How does the denim fit in the waist, crotch, butt and thighs?

This WeSC denim fits snugly through the waist, crotch, butt and thighs. Honestly, when I first laid eyes and my hands on the actual fabric of this denim, I was a little worried that it wouldn’t have enough stretch for my curves, but I couldn’t have been more wrong. As far as fit is concerned, this denim really molded to my own form, as opposed to me trying to wedge my body into them. The fit is comfortable and great looking!

Where would you wear this denim to?

I have, indeed, worn this denim on several occasions. I am slightly obsessed with dark wash and the skinny-leg cut. There is just something classic and great about those two aspects of these WeSCs.  Additionally, I feel like I’ve tried out almost every denim brand in existence, but I’ve never, ever seen the attention to detail that the Eve style has. The fun, yet still subtle yellow and white ribbing at the top of a few of the pockets, add an extra bit of pizzaz and intrigue to this denim, without getting, for lack of better terms, cheesy. I always get an incredible response from my friends, co-workers and even some outsiders with this denim. People want to get a closer look at the details and a feel for the fabric.

Know What Else Is Red? eS.

August 31st, 2010

Maybe only a handful of you know what that excerpt above is from but that’s okay. Jamal Smith said it here. Please, only watch it if you’ve seen Gaspar Noé’s second film. Now that eS has hopped on your train of thought, take a look below at the Mad Decent (top) and Diplo (bottom) collaborations. Fortunately (for me), they both come with a very informative description. Personally speaking though, I prefer the Diplo kicks because they say GULLY on the back heel.

eS Fall 2010 Mad Decent Diplo Sneakers

Mad Decent is the name of the Philadelphia-based record label spearheaded by Wesley Pentz, whose better known as Diplo, the Grammy-nominated producer of M.I.A.’s “Paper Planes.” Diplo also makes up one half of Major Lazer, along with the UK’s Switch. As an influential label that’s home to Blaqstarr (who has also produced many tracks for M.I.A.), South Rakkas Crew, and Rusko (to name a few), Mad Decent is often ahead of the curve in new music. In this collaboration with eS, Diplo’s Erving model features a tonal black upper complimented by lime green hits on the eyelets, laces, and the diplodocus logo stitched on the heel. For the Mad Decent Taido model, a reggae-inspired, yellow, red, and green gradient fade is used on the collar and heel portion of the shoe and on the “GET MAD” logo embossed on the tongue

Canada Goose Jackets

August 30th, 2010

New Canada Goose jackets are in-store and available at Outtabounds. These are undoubtedly some of the best jackets you can find, rivaling the top brands out there (North Face I see you). The company has collaberated with many others for an added sense of style, but Canada Goose does just fine solo for those of us who are aesthetically driven.  Did I mention these things will keep you warm in the coldest-of-the-cold locations (ie. North & South poles) on earth?

The 2010 Kensington (top) and Montebello (bottom) parkas for women (sorry guys, you’ll have to wait a little bit longer) are available at Outtabounds. I would get into specifics but the picture will help you more.

Maestro Knows Monday

August 30th, 2010

Ahhhhhhh yeah! How fitting!! Here Maestro Knows NYC Edition, that means we’re one step closer to the present series (which is not moving as fast as the previous segments). Here, Maestro announces his NYC trek and tells us to expect some great things. Then the NYC intro is shown. Dope. And then Maestro links up with  Nigel Sylvester (the how fitting part of things: expect to see a recap of his birthday soon). Enjoy your lunch and my broken sentences!

In this first episode of NYC Edition watch Maestro & Nigel ride down the middle of Broadway headed toward the Brooklyn banks, and also checking out Format Queens, Five Guys burger and an extra pit stop in Las Vegas!

Comune Autumn/Winter

August 30th, 2010

Fall turned into Autumn, yeah my synonym vault is endless.

Comune’s newest collection is just as dark and grungy as our first run with the brand, perhaps even a little bit more so. Bordering on a punk look (words have positive and negative connotations for those of you looking at this and cringing at the word: punk), Comune produces clothing this season which makes me think of  what a skateboarder  might wear if it’s cold outside. The Dion Buttonup is a perfect example: great to layer with, as it has a removable hood,  the Dion would be a good alternative to put under a thicker jacket — a hoodie may keep you just a bit too warm in the preceding months of Winter. The Apuerto (tee) sounds like a nom de guerre with its esoteric stone wash that can only be described as ghastly. Braydon Szafranski’s Wax Jacket by Comune is also gracing our store in good fashion.  It features a buttondown closure, welt waist pockets, snap button chest pockets, light wax coating, and a Comune tag at the right hem. Denim is also available but we wrote the names down wrong.

Now you say you want the real but it’s the real I’m saying, so what’s the deal?

Smooth black leather Swoosh, toebox and heel. Black suede upper. Black midsole. Aqua branding and laces. Yesterday was full of Nike SB posts, ya’ll must be tired of my overzealous descriptions and ecclesiastical vocabulary.

Another rudimentary Dunk, Nike excellently makes use of the shades within the color spectrum: grey, white and black. The whole side of the shoe fluctuates in regards of grey, while the midsole is solely black. Not only does the shade scheme alternate, the materials do as well. Canvas and suede make up the upper; suede can be found on the toe-box and canvas takes over as you make your way up the sneaker. Finally the third shade: white makes up the tongue branding and laces thus completing and complimenting the overall design.

Mo Skate Team

August 26th, 2010

Throughout the summer, our skate team has been skating hard, and breaking bones. We have been shooting for a possible video, and recently getting photos taken from Geoff Warrington. You can expect to see more content from us.

Stay updated: Facebook/Twitter.

Mo Market Skate Team:

Greg Prior, Jacob Grasby, Tyler Abrahamson, Steve Spizawka, and Garrett Kendel.

Perforated obsidian leather covers the entire upper of this Blazer, alongside a matching midsole, Nike has successfully created another “midnight” SB. White tubing, laces, and Nike (on the heel/tongue) contribute to this Blazer’s contrasting outline. What irks me is that I never really see anyone skating a Blazer/Dunk High.. I’m tired of seeing the same ol’ low(s) being worn constantly. Stop being so traditional!

August 26th, 2010

nike sb paul rodriguez 4 video Nike SB: Zoom Paul Rodriguez 4 Video Campaign

Less than two weeks ago, the Zoom Paul Rodriguez 4 was officially unveiled as the 4th generation signature sneaker from Paul Rodriguez. A full-fledge video campaign comes to us in the form of a video and various interview segments with Paul Rodriguez. Images previously seen as part of initial launch are now pieced together as part of a commercial which includes a voiceover and appearance from New York’s own Nas. After the jump are some short videos featuring Paul Rodriguez on topics such as the shoe itself, P-rod’s thoughts on Nas, New York City skating and a segment involving Theotis Beasley’s thoughts on P-Rod

If you come into The Marketplace, you’ll be able to sift through the nice selection of P-Rod apparel and footwear as well. We’ve recently placed some neat photographs/posters around the shop as well. Of P-Rod. Doing what? I don’t know..

More videos after the jump..
